Maithreyi’s paper, on ‘Rights, Responsibility, and Participation in Education: The Case of the Right to Education in India’, co-authored with Arathi Sriprakash from University of Cambridge has been published in NORRAG’s first special issue on the Right to Education (RTE). The paper discusses how the rights discourse and instrumental role awarded to parents further entrenches inequalities within the Indian education system, rather than mitigating it.
