CBPS GrOW Team bags the Best Session Paper Award in the Third World Conference on Women’s Studies held in Colombo, Sri Lanka

Niveditha Menon, Neha Ghatak and Priyanka Dutta attended the Third World’s Conference on Women’s Studies 2017, titled “Building  Resilience: Dialogue, Collaboration and Partnerships across our Differences” held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 4th to 6th May, 2017. The conference was hosted by the Bridgewater State University, USA and organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM) in collaboration with Nepal Center for Contemporary Research, Centre of Excellence for Women’s Studies, University of Karachi, Pakistan and Rikkyo University, Japan.

The team presented a paper titled “The Individual and the Collective: Understanding the Empowerment Process of Mahila Samakhya in Bihar” on 5th May 2017 in the technical session on Unlocking the Potential of Feminisms and Women’s Movement. The paper was awarded with a medal and certificate for being the best paper of the session. The session was chaired by Dr. Tina Escaja, University of Vermont, USA.
