CBPS organised a talk by Dr. Alex M. Thomas in office on 3 July 2019 at 12 p.m. He is an Assistant Professor at Azim Premji University. The title of his talk was ‘History of Economic Thought for Policy ’.
The abstract for the talk is given below:
After briefly introducing the key themes in Pluralistic Economics and its History, he presented a very concise account of economic thinking from William Petty to Robert Solow. Subsequently, he outlined the scope of research in the History of Economic Thought (HET) by providing a brief overview of the recent literature. By underscoring the lack of pluralism in both microeconomics and macroeconomics, he pointed out the importance of HET for economic policy.
