CBPS Responses to Budget and Economic Survey 2021

CBPS has engaged in responding to the Budget and Economic Survey 2021. These responses include a few newspaper articles both in print and digital media and in some cases, our opinions were covered by the newspaper articles. Some of these are listed here:

  • Youth ki Awaaz published an article titled, ‘Pandemic And Union Budget 2021: Implementation And The Way Forward’ on 19 February 2021. This was based on a discussion titled, ‘Pandemic & Union Budget 2021 Implementation and the way forward’ organised by the Impact and Policy Research Institute (IMPRI) and Counterview on 8 February 2021 wherein, Dr. Jyotsna Jha was one of the panelist.
  • Dr. Jyotsna Jha was asked for quotations by a journalist for an article published in The Times of India titled, ‘Karnataka budget: Govt borrowings likely to touch a record high’. It was published on 16 February 2021.
  • Dr. Jyotsna Jha’s article titled, ‘Annual Budget 2021-22: An imbalance between economic growth and livelihood?’ has been published as part of the Guest Column in The Indian Tiffin – BDO India’s international newsletter on 5 February 2021.
  • A blog titled, ‘Union Budget and the health of Democracy‘ has been written by Mr. Syed Mazahir Husain on 4 February 2021 which was published on the CBPS Blog Page.
  • BIC Talks published a podcast titled, ‘Budget 2021: Promise and Reality (Narayan Ramachandran and Jyotsna Jha)’ on 3 February 2021.
  • Deccan Herald has published an article titled, ‘Union Budget 2021: Art of hiding the truth’ written by Dr. Jyotsna Jha. It was published on 2 February 2021.
  • Dr. Jyotsna Jha participated as a panelist on ‘Arthniti – Economic Survey 2021-22’, aired on Rajya Sabha TV as on 31 January 2021. The discussion was titled, ‘Economic Survey – The Road Ahead’. The other panelist was Ms. Deepshikha Sikarwar (Senior Editor, The Economic Times).The moderator of the session was Mr. Kavindra Sachan (senior anchor).
  • Dr. Jyotsna Jha participated as a panelist on Desh Deshantar, aired on Rajya Sabha TV. The other panelists were Dr. Raman R. Gangakhedkar (Dr. C.G. Pandit National Chair, ICMR) and Dr. R.K. Srivastava (Former DGHS, GoI). It was organised on 30 January 2021. The moderator of the session was Mr. Kavindra Sachan (senior anchor).
  • Dr. Jyotsna Jha was asked for quotations by a journalist for an article published in The Times of India titled, ‘Karnataka: 12% economic contraction estimated before budget’. It was published on 29 January 2021.
