On the occasion of International Women’s Day this year, we would like to raise the issue of Girls’ Education. With nearly 40% of adolescent girls not being in any educational institution, we cannot even dream of soon becoming a developed and evolved nation where we can pride ourselves with values of equality and freedom that we have enshrined in our constitution.
In collaboration with a few other civil society organisations, we are presenting a Fact Sheet (English and Hindi) and a few recommendations for all political parties to commit to in their respective manifestos for the forthcoming General Election.
A Fact Sheet for Bihar can be viewed here.
We also urge our fellow researchers and civil society organisations to use these documents to advocate for girls’ education.
