Jyotsna, Padmaja, Shreekanth and Maithreyi attended the UKFIET International Conference on Education and Development, from 5-7 September, 2017, at Oxford, UK. This year’s theme for the conference was ‘Learning and Teaching for Sustainable Development: Curriculum, Cognition & Context.‘
Shreekanth and Padmaja presented a paper on “Can Open Schooling Enable Inclusion at Secondary Level Education: Evidence from India“, drawn from the MacArthur study on Open and Distance Learning as a Cost-effective Option for Secondary Level Schooling in India: Potential and Prerequisites and Higher Education Review and Career Trajectory of Open Distance Learning Students .
Maithreyi presented a paper on “Rethinking Learning Assessments: Insights from a Study on the Status of Education in Tribal Districts in Maharashtra (India)”, based on the UNICEF Maharashtra Study to Review Status of Education in Tribal Areas in Maharashtra. Shreekanth and Maithreyi also received the UKFIET Bursuary Fund to attend the conference.
