    The Administrative Training Institute, Mysore is conducting a one-day workshop on Gender Issues on 7 June at Hotel Atria, Bangalore. Jyotsna will be a panelist for the theme Public Policy and Gender Budgeting. Varun and Divya will present a paper on HIV/AIDS and Gender in Indian context . Paper by Sandhya, Gender responsive budgeting ā€“ what is and what can be: Some posers for policy-makers and practitioners and one by Neha and Kavitha, The Jananis and the Lakshmis: The Question of Empowerment, have been accepted for publication in connection to the workshop.

    CBPS has been sanctioned a study titled Case Studies of Best Performing Panchayats by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India. This project aims at conducting in-depth studies of selected eight Panchayats in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for their exemplary performance in specific sectors /schemes.

    CBPS successfully procured a bid for a study titled A Study of the Quality of Acceptance of Disadvantaged Children Admitted Under Right to Education Section 12 ā€˜Cā€™ of the Act by Private Unaided Schools from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Karnataka. The four-month study will be conducted in the North and South Districts of Bangalore.
