Enhancing Capacity and Accountability in Urban Governance

This project had twin core objectives of promoting an inclusive, participatory budget process and enhancing the capacity and accountability in the urban local governance in Belgaum and Kolhapur districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra. About 15 municipalities were covered in the project area. The project had two important steps: (i) generating information on budgetary and governance process and (ii) capacity building at the level of Urban Local Self Governments (UL SGs) to improve accountability.
