CBPS Team will be participating in the XVI International Conference on Public Policy & Management 2021. The conference is being organised by the Centre for Public Policy, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore on 23-25 August 2021.
There will be three presentations from the CBPS Team in a special track session which is titled, ‘Lessons learnt from the impact of the pandemic on Economy, Employment & Expenditure: Exploring Common Threads’. The session is being chaired by Jyotsna Jha, Director of CBPS, and the discussant for the session is Prof Narendra Pani, NIAS, Bengaluru. This is on 23 August 2021 from 2.00 pm. to 3.30 pm. (Parallel Session 2).
The following are the titles of the presentations along with their respective presenters –
- Macro-economic impact of the pandemic on the economy of Chhattisgarh by Madhusudhan BV, Research Advisor, CBPS and Achala Yaraseem, CBPS.
- Exploring the profile and lives of migratory labour in post-pandemic Bengaluru by Archana Purohit, Research Advisor, CBPS and Sowmya J, Research Associate, CBPS.
- Public expenditure on children in India: pre and post COVID19 patterns by Susmitha MV, Shiboni Sundar and Madhusudhan BV.
- Incomes, Informality and Instability: Examining Poverty in Indian Household after Covid-19 by Nishanth Kumar and Anupama Kumar, Dvara Research, Chennai.
Jyotsna Jha will also be chairing a session titled, ‘Financial Inclusion: Policies, Innovation & Challenges’ on 24 August 2021. This is from 11.00 am. to 12.45 pm. (Parallel Session 2). Additionally, she is presenting on 25 August 2021 at a session titled, ‘Policy 2: Exploring the nuances of Politics, Institutions & Governance’ which is at 11.00 am. to 12.45 pm. The title of her presentation is ‘Managing a research NGO in India: Walking on a tight rope with a sword hanging on your head!’. The chair of this session is Dr Vasanthi Srinivasan, IIMB.
