This project aimed at studying the working of District Planning Committee (DPC) in Kodagu district of Karnataka. A constitutional body provided by the 94th Amendment, this body had to consolidate the plans prepared by the Panchayats and Municipalities in the districts and to prepare a draft development plan for the district as a whole. The objective of this study was to understand how much the elected representatives of both TMC (Town Municipal Council) and ZP (Zilla Panchayat) know about the functioning of the DPC and its role.
