Puja Minni, Research Advisor, represented CBPS in the dissemination workshop for the National Study on Working Conditions of Teachers. It was organised by National University for Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) on 20 March 2015 in New Delhi.
The dissemination began with a welcome note by Prof. Govinda (NUEPA), followed by an overview by Prof. Vimala Ramachandran (NUEPA). Different aspects of teacher management were discussed in detail during the course of the day. Profiles of teachers, their recruitment, deployment, salaries, working conditions and finally grievance redressal mechanisms in the nine states were presented. Each presentation was followed by inputs from a discussant and open discussion with audience. The final session discussed the policy implications and invited recommendations from the audience to be included in the final report.
