The Centre for Budget and Policy Studies (CBPS) is delighted to welcome its third batch of Research Fellows [Cohort 2025-26]. These young researchers bring diverse academic backgrounds and a shared commitment to building knowledge through evidence-based research.
Vamadeva Srinivasan

Vamadeva graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Media and Democracy from Azim Premji University. His previous research experience includes micro-projects on youth unemployment in the Indian labour market and the climate vulnerability of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). He is currently interested in the research areas of governance, institutions, and development.

Venkatesh Pillai

Venkatesh has completed B.Sc. in International Economics with a minor in Finance from Bocconi University, Milan. In 2024, he attended the University of Warwick as an exchange student. His research interests lie at the intersection of culture and economics, which led to his undergraduate thesis analysing the relationship between corruption, trust, and life satisfaction. He has also worked on projects as a research assistant examining the sources of stereotypes.
