As a part of the International Women’s Day 2021, we are e-releasing a special multimedia presentation titled, ‘Dignity, respect, and justice for all: The question of gender in public policy’ by Niveditha Menon, Deputy Director of CBPS.
The presentation examines a simple question: How does public policy engage with gender? To investigate this, Niveditha draws on four studies done by CBPS, namely:
- an evaluation of Mahila Samakhya
- re-design of the Bhagyalakshmi Scheme
- a gendered analysis of the Delhi Police,
- the engagement with women adyakshas.
Using these studies, her presentation focuses on five themes: 1) gender as a concept, 2) gender as a subject, 3) gender as a citizen, 4) gender as a collective and 5) gender as the future.
