The lecture will explore data’s growing significance in policy discourse and address a few important questions that get displaced in the background – Can policy research or data be in the service of democracy? What would such a shift in thinking demand from researchers, particularly those working in the field? The questions will be explored by reflecting on the relationship between data, policy research, and democratic practices. The lecture will conclude with an open Q and A.
