Statistics for education amongst tribal children in Maharashtra depict lower literacy levels and educational attainment. This study aims to understand the status of educational attainment for tribal populations in select districts with high, medium and low levels of tribal enrollment, policies/programmes that ensure special attention towards tribal education, explore convergences between departments of education and tribal development and suggest possible revisions in the policies/programmes. As a part of this study, CBPS will be conducting education assessments in primary, upper primary and secondary schools in Maharashtra.
