The study aims to understand the efforts of the Ministry of Panchayat Raj (MoPR) to improve local taxation by analyzing the various tax regimes across different levels of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), identifying trends, and examining the recommendations of State Finance Commissions (SFCs) on local taxation.
