A Study of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in Karnataka

The objectives of this study on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) were to:

1. Analyse the overall implementation of PMFBY scheme in Karnataka across the various stages of pre-notification, notification, enrollment and claims.
2. Review the proposed guidelines issued by the Government of India, and analyse the potential implications of these guidelines on the functioning of the scheme.
3. Understand and analyse the farmer enrollment patterns in the 3 districts of Gadag, Raichur and Uttar Kannada.
4. Understand and analyse the various stakeholders’ perspectives on the 2017 crop cutting experiment (CCE) protocol developed by the Government of Karnataka for the conduct of CCEs.
