This study's main objective was to understand the career trajectory chosen by Open and Distance Learning (ODL) students and the value addition provided by the ODL institutions in terms of future economic/educational activities. In addition, the study provided insights into the type of economic and educational activities sought by the ODL alumni. The sample states included Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi with a sample size of 1500 ODL alumni.
In addition, a survey of the prospectus of undergraduate degrees of central, state, private and deemed universities in Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Karnataka was undertaken. This exercise was carried out in order to understand if the students of ODL face any barriers to continuing their higher education.
