CBPS has completed a preliminary study on Bhagyalakshmi (BL), a cash transfer scheme operational in Karnataka since 2006-07 for families below the poverty line. This is the study's second phase, which included a field-based process review that deepened our understanding of the scheme’s functioning and its preliminary impact by examining field issues and listening to voices from the field. The study also explored Mahila Samakhya's (MS) potential role in starting, activating, and empowering BL clubs using the Kishori Sangha experience. The entire exercise aimed to improve processes and contribute to redesigning the scheme in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka.
