Abstract

The report Child-Centred Investments to Achieve Targets of Vision 2025 evaluates the Department of Women Development and Child Welfare’s (WD&CW) initiatives in Telangana to meet Vision 2025 goals and align with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 5. It analyses child nutrition, health, and protection indicators alongside the effectiveness of flagship schemes like Arogya Laxmi, Balamrutham, and POSHAN Abhiyaan. Telangana’s ambitious targets aim to reduce stunting, low birth weight, and anaemia, while expanding Early Childhood Education (ECE) and creating a safe, protected environment for children.

The study highlights trends in child-centred expenditures, identifies gaps, and projects the investments needed to achieve these targets. By linking improved nutrition, healthcare, and education to social development, the report underscores the critical role of timely financial allocations and monitoring to realise the Vision 2025 goals and uplift vulnerable children across Telangana
