CBPS undertook a study on public expenditure incurred on children i.e. all individuals within the age group of 0-18 years during the period 2001-02 to 2012-13, employing the tools of public expenditure analysis and benefit or expenditure incidence analysis. The study adopted a comprehensive perspective to public expenditure analysis for children's needs, which went beyond sector-specific figures. This approach was particularly relevant in the context of India's commitment to child rights.
This study was entrusted to CBPS by the UNICEF offices in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
